This past weekend, we take a family trip to the Water Works Park in Denton, Texas. This was our first time visiting the park and I must say we were pretty impressed. Here’s an overview of our experience visiting The Water Works Park in Denton, TX.
Parking is Free. It was easy for us to find parking and getting around.
I really loved the convenience of the park’s layout. This is not fairly large water park which is plus for moms like myself with younger kids. It makes it so much easier to keep track of the kiddos and have a stress-free afternoon.
We when first arrived around 2 pm Sunday afternoon we were expecting it to be super crowded with long lines. To our surprise, the line moved fairly quickly and we were able to get to the ticket booth within few minutes. I inform the staff member of who we were, she was very polite at explaining she needed to verify everything with her manager which only took a few extra minutes after that we were able to get in. Throughout the entire day, all of the staff were extremely friendly and more than willing to help with anything you needed. The Life Guards were also very friendly and alert at all times. The park was very clean from the water to restrooms.
The parks offer four giant slides, two toddler slides, one giant indoor slide, a lazy river, children’s play pool, sand volleyball, cabanas rentals, Party Rentals, and New Wave Pool. Our favorite attraction at the park was the lazy river. It’s one of the biggest ones we have been to, the landscape surrounding it is beautiful and we were actually able to relax.
While you can purchase food at The Hula Hut that offers quick service snacks, ice cream, candy, and drinks or you have pizzas, salads, fresh fruit smoothies and more at the Pineapple Delight. They are also one of the few water parks that allow you to bring your own Personal Coolers, Outside food, and drinks. No alcohol, knives, or other sharp objects. Coolers are checked at the park entrance. We loved this because we were able to bring our own vegan food and snacks. They also have a snow cone stand.
If your kids are older and they’re able to go down the slides or the lazy river by themselves, you can read a book or surf the web using their FREE WiFi.
If you suffer from mommy brain, like most of us moms do and you forget any of the necessities like sunscreen, towels, Puddle Jumpers, swim diapers, etc, you can pick up with you need at the Hula Hut at a reasonable price. You can also get your Locker rentals at the Hula Hut for $3 a day keep your personal belongings.
