Summer is officially here now that Denton Water Works Park is open! This water park is so awesome for toddlers like my son because they have a fun area for kids where they can spray water, walk through sprinklers, go down slides, and more. You may have driven past this water park. It is close to University of North Texas and Texas Women's University (seen from the highway 288).
My son was hesitant at first because he hasn't spent much time at swimming pools, but he quickly decided that this was a lot of fun! Check out the play area.
His favorite part was the Daddy-Mommy-and-Me train that we made in the lazy river. We each had our own inner tube (these are included with the cost of admission) and we held onto each others' rafts to make a train and go through together. He loved the rapids and sprinklers section. We went around the lazy river four times and he said that this was his favorite part.
They also have a couple of water slides for bigger kids. It looked like people using them were having a blast (pun intended)!
We will definitely visit again this summer and in future years. After just one visit, my son is hooked and keeps asking to go back.
BTW - you can see that bathrooms are conveniently located near the child play area. I know that this is important to many parents.
Are you planning a family trip to a water park this summer?
