Next time your in town visiting the wonderful city of Grapevine, Texas, be sure to head on over to the Grapevine Mills Mall to enjoy the Sea Life Aquarium!
The Sea Life Aquarium is a wonderful family friendly attraction that features many exhibits and sea life creatures. The aquarium definitely was much bigger than expected when first arriving! It includes over 30 incredible displays, over 5,000 sea creatures, a 360 degree underwater ocean tunnel and even a small play area for children at the end of the exhibit.
Among the many different sea creature displays, there are some special ones that I feel you will really want to focus on while there are…
360 Degree Ocean Tunnel
Clownfish Caves (Especially for those Finding Nemo lovers!)
Our favorite by far was the Stingray Bay. Ever since we fed the stingrays a few months ago, that’s all my step-daughter could talk about! She loved watching them. They even had a ledge where you could go up above and view the stingrays from a window underneath your feet! (shown in far bottom right picture.)
I also loved how all the attractions have tons of decoration, maps and quotes to really put you into the sea life mood while walking through the aquarium. Plus there are tons of interactive smaller things to do for the kiddos in each exhibit!
The shark exhibit and ocean tunnel was really neat as well. They had interactive screens that children could choose different sharks to look up close at and learn more about all the different attributes for each shark. The 360 degree ocean tunnel was really incredible as well. It was a bit small and crowded, especially when we went on a Sat., but worth it. The sharks, stingrays, fish and other creatures swam right over head and underneath your feet which was neat to experience! My step daughter loved looking at the sharks and seeing what the bottom of them looked like when they swam above!
Last but not least, were the Rockpools at the very end by the submarine playground. At the Rockpools exhibit, you were able to touch and feel all kinds of sea life from hermit crabs to starfish. At first my step daughter was apprehensive, but once she saw other children and her father doing it, she was all about it!
Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Sea Life Aquarium at Grapevine Mills Mall. If you are ever in the area, it is surely something you don’t want to miss out on! They are open 7 days a week, but close a little earlier on Sundays.
One tip, buy your tickets online if you can! The lines are very long on the weekends and if you have your tickets already, you can get in the shorter line to not wait as long!
